Belonging: The Truth Behind the Headlines is an award winning investigative documentary that looks again at the events around 3 industrial disputes, 3 governments and over 3 decades.
Through heart-rending personal stories from those at the centre of these disputes we show the impact of government and corporate power on individuals, communities, democracy and human rights in the UK, starting with Murdoch’s purchase of the Times and The Sunday Times to the present day.
This film will not tell you how to think, but will ask you to think again.
Screening followed by a Q&A panel: Director Morag Livingstone, Stevie Deans, Vice Convenor at the centre of the Grangemouth dispute and Falkirk Labour Party controversy, Pat Rafferty (Unite’s Scottish Secretary and leader of the Grangemouth dispute) and Mark Lyon, author of The Battle of Grangemouth – The Worker’s Story.
Entry is FREE, all welcome to attend. Hosted by Aberdeen Unite Area Activists Committee and shown as part of the Aberdeen Trades Union Council 150th Anniversary Celebrations.
