Jason Walsh Training Program Helps To Craft Jake Gyllenhaal’s Ripped Physique

Jason was Jake’s trainer for a long time. As per Men’s Health, this pair worked together to hone Jake’s body for the roadhouse for over a year.

Additionally, Jason Walsh divided the training program into several progressive phases.

The baseline phase was a bit easy for Jake, involving regular activities such as running or cycling, bodyweight exercises like push-ups and squats, and mobility drills.

As Jake prepared for a fighter role, his exercises included striking and grappling drills and agility training to enhance footwork and reaction time in the Sport-Specific Phase.

Moreover, in the maintenance phase, Jake maintains muscle mass and engages in cardiovascular activities such as HIIT or circuit training to lose fat.

Jake underwent an intensive training regimen, passing all these phases to gain a ripped look.

The actor began his routine with mobility exercises and shadowboxing on a Proteus machine to enhance his fighter’s range of motion.

He then focused on strength-building through isometric inverted row holds, weighted sled pulls, safety bar squats, push-pull reps, and forearm workouts.

Furthermore, he also maintained a core-specific routine, followed two to three times per week.

Some of his core-specific routines include kettlebell carries, zercher squats, and physio ball chops with a medicine ball, which helped him get solid abs for Road House.
