Lyn, Aka the Fourth Sister Fatally Injured Barriss Offee Leading to Death Speculations

Barriss Offee became the inquisitor after her meet with Lyn Rakish.

Barriss Offee, now the Healer, was a Force-sensitive Mirialan female who became the Inquisitor after the end of Order 66. She trained with the Grand Inquisitor during the Imperial Era.

Barriss Offee was a Jedi Knight with facial tattoos and greenish skin from a cold, dry planet on the outer rim.

Following the turning point in The Clone Wars season five finale, “The Wrong Jedi,” Barriss’s whereabouts have become a major concern among the audience.

Previously known as the gifted healer, Barriss embraced the dark side in the twentieth and final episode of The Clone Wars‘ fifth season.

She fabricated a terrorist attack on the Jedi Temple following growing disappointed with the Jedi’s warring ways during the Clone Wars.

On top of that, Barriss didn’t hesitate to frame her friend Ahsoka Tano; however, her crimes eventually unfolded after Skywalker caught her.

She was taken to a Republic prison in Coruscant after exiting the Jedi Order.

It was the last the audience heard of Barriss until Tales of the Empire picked up where her story remained stuck.

Barriss Offee Emerges As An Inquisitor After Order 66

The former Jedi, Barriss’ story takes off on the fourth episode of The Tales of Empire in the scene right after Order 66 cleared off most of the remaining Jedi.

In the episode’s opening scene, she watches the Jedi Temple, which she once called home, from her cell viewpoint, which is underway a massive attack.

Lyn Rakish, a former Jedi who embraced the dark side, took the name “Fourth Sister” and recruited her after a visit to the cell.

Fourth Sister recruits her for the newly constituted Inquisitorius to hunt down the last of the Jedi in the galaxy.

Barriss passes a set of trials, including a near-death fight scene with another former Jedi, eventually emerging as an Inquisitor of the First Galactic Empire.

Initially recruited by Lyn to join the Inquisitorius, Barriss rejects the dark side after witnessing its brutality and turns her back on the Fourth Sister.

She pushes Lyn off a cliff, hiding and protecting the remaining Jedi instead of hunting them down.

Barriss Offee Forgives Lyn Rakish Even After Getting A Fatal Blow From Her

The story jumps several years ahead in the sixth episode, showing an older Barriss who is now known as “The Healer” on a remote ice planet.

She then arranges for the family and their child to travel to a hideout inside the cave across the galaxy following Lyn’s sudden arrival.

Desperate to hunt down the child, Lyn considers herself lucky after seeing Barriss while tracking the child.

Lyn heads to the seemingly magical cave regardless of Barriss’s warnings, promising she’ll return to get revenge on her former Inquisitor sister.

Barriss sacrifices herself to show now-trapped Lyn the way out of her darkness, only to get a killing blow with Lyn’s lightsaber through her abdomen.

The Healer, however, forgives the Fourth Sister in the process and tells her there’s a way out of the cave.

The episode’s final scene ends with the Fourth Sister feeling remorse and carrying her former Inquisitor sister out of the cave.

Considering the cave’s barren and remote location, Barriss’s chance of surviving appears unlikely; however, this has yet to be confirmed.

Barriss’s fate is left ambiguous, as it’s uncertain whether she succumbs to her injuries or if there’s still hope for her survival.

The plotline serves as a redemption turn for Barriss; if not, it hints at the possibility of redemption for Lyn, aka The Fourth Sister.
