Former “Promil Kid” Cj De Silva’s Husband, Wincy Ong, Expressed Deep Sorrow Over Her Passing

Wincy Ong, the husband of former Promil Kid CJ De Silva, recently shared the heartbreaking news of his beloved wife passing on social media, expressing deep grief and sorrow.

Born on August 1, 1987, Christiana Jade De Silva-Ong, aka CJ De, was a talented Filipino art director, painter, and graphic designer.

Her husband is Wincy Aquino Ong, a director, writer, illustrator, podcaster and actor. They got married in 2013 after Ong finished his studies at the Vancouver Film School.

Sadly, CJ De passed away on June 18, 2024, after suffering two strokes in the ICU.

Her husband, Wincy Ong, confirmed this news in a social media post describing her as a loving wife, cat mom, and daughter.

Wincy Ong’s Melodic Journey Through Life and Art

Wincy Aquino Ong, the second of four children, was born on February 4, 1982, in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines.

He joined Ateneo de Manila for grade school, high school, and university and earned a bachelor’s degree in AB Communication.

Ong is a Filipino artist renowned for his multifaceted contributions to the movie industry.

As a musician, he is celebrated for his songwriting with bands such as Narda, Us-2 Evil-0, and Patience Dear Juggernaut.

However, he left Narda in 2005 and started composing music scores for radio, TV, and films, including ID music for ABS-CBN‘s cable channels.

In the TV series Rakista, Ong showcased his acting talent by playing the character Sven de Leon, among other acting roles.

Beyond music and film, he is also an accomplished writer and illustrator. His works, such as Tales For A Rainy Season, add to his literary collection.

Moreover, Ong shares his insights and experiences as a co-host of The Telebabad Tapes, a podcast with his wife.

His contributions to music extend beyond performance to compositions and production. It further cemented his status as a versatile and creative force in the arts.

Recently, he has actively engaged in the music scene and composed musical scores for media.

Tragically, his beloved wife passed away at the age of 36, which directly impacted him and those close to them.
