Sam Rubin, an American journalist, and his wife, Julie Anderson, lived in Los Angeles. They spent a blissful married life for over a decade.
The late news presenter, broadly known for his long-time service at the KTLA Morning News, had over three decades of experience in the industry.
In addition to his career as a news presenter, Sam also wrote books. He is the co-author of the biography of the former First Lady Jacqueline Onassis.
The lifetime achievement award-winning reporter from the Southern California Broadcasters Association, Sam joined KTLA over three decades ago, in 1991.
Besides his triumphant professional life, Sam’s personal life, including his love life, has always interested the audience.
Sam Rubin and his First Wife, Julie Anderson, Tied the Knot in January 1988
The power couple, Sam Rubin and his first wife, Julie Anderson, were officially off the market in January 1988.
Despite coming from different religious backgrounds, Sam and Julie didn’t let that stop them from being together with common ground based on love.
According to the Los Angeles Times, they married in a double ritual ceremony: a Jewish ceremony followed by a private Catholic ceremony.
Basically, the double ritual was nothing but an attempt to resolve the dilemmas of modern marriage.
Unfortunately, the precise details of their relationship timeline remain away from the limelight to date.
We applaud the couple for succeeding in maintaing robust privacy regarding their love life, even dodging rigorous media scrutiny.
The Power Couple had a Difficult Time Finding Rabbi for their Interfaith Wedding Ceremony
Although the ceremony appeared seamless for the attendees, the couple reportedly had difficulty searching for a rabbi to perform their wedding.
Rubin expressed his frustration, stating that the process of finding a rabbi had been much more problematic than they had ever imagined it would be.
Julie’s family members had referred a willing rabbi who conducted frequent interfaith marriages. Nevertheless, he didn’t fit their requirements.

The couple wasn’t quite satisfied with the rabbi, although the rabbi was warm and welcoming.
Sam and Julie eventually denied his offer, finding a cantor with the help of an additional rabbi to conduct their wedding ceremony.
Cantors lead the singing of public prayer in Jewish ceremonies, usually co-officiating with a rabbi; however, they occasionally perform wedding ceremonies on their own.
Sam and Julie Shared Two Beautiful Children
The couple welcomed two beautiful daughters, Perry and Rory Rubin, during their 18 years of married life.
Rory Rubin, the eldest child, was born on April 26, 2001. She followed in her father’s footsteps and became a journalist at KTLA in 2014.

Their youngest, Rory, pursued a career in acting with an acting credit in the TV movie “Kids’ Inaugural: We Are the Future.”
Unfortunately, their relationship went downhill after 18 years of blissful marital life.
Sam and Julie divorced in 2006 after 18 years of being together as a married couple. However, the prime reason behind their failed relationship remains unknown to the public.
